This policy explains what personal data Web Dynamix Academy ("we", "us") collects when you use webdynamix.online, our mobile app, our support chat and our training centre, why we collect it, and the choices you have. We process personal data in line with the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023.
Who we are
Web Dynamix Academy, 55 New Market Road, Opposite Zenith Bank, Onitsha. For anything about your data, contact us at webdynamixacademy@gmail.com or 0802 545 7981.
What we collect
When you create an account: your name, username, email address, phone number and password (stored encrypted, never readable by staff). You can also add a profile photo and profile details such as a short bio and links.
When you pay: the courses you bought, amounts, dates and payment references. Card payments are handled by Paystack; we never see or store your card number. If you pay by bank transfer, we keep the proof of payment you upload so we can confirm it.
When you learn: lessons you open and complete, quiz answers and scores, assignments and files you submit, feedback from instructors, certificates issued, and reviews you post.
When you contact us: support tickets and their attachments, contact-form messages, and conversations with our website assistant (chat bubble).
When you use the jobs board: which job listings you view, so we can see which jobs are useful.
Technical data: your IP address, browser type and the time of each request, kept in server logs for security. If you use our app with notifications turned on, we keep a device token so we can send them.
Cookies and local storage: we use essential cookies to keep you signed in and protect forms from abuse, and your browser's storage to remember your course selection and small preferences (such as a dismissed banner). We do not use advertising cookies.
Why we use it
- To create and run your account, give you access to the courses you paid for, track your progress and issue certificates.
- To process and confirm payments, issue receipts and prevent fraud.
- To answer your questions and support requests.
- To send you account emails (receipts, password resets, certificate and assignment updates) and, where you have not opted out, announcements and job alerts.
- To keep the platform secure, fix problems and understand how it is used so we can improve it.
- To meet legal, tax and accounting obligations.
We rely on our contract with you (to provide the courses and services), your consent (for optional things like marketing messages, which you can withdraw at any time), our legitimate interests (security and improving our services), and legal obligations.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with service providers who help us run the platform, and only what they need:
- Paystack, to process card and transfer payments.
- Our hosting and email providers, to run the website and send emails.
- Groq, which provides the AI that powers our website assistant. Messages you type into the chat are sent to it to generate a reply.
- Remote job providers (such as Himalayas or Jobicy): when you open a job's application link you leave our site and their privacy policy applies. We do not send them your details.
We may also disclose information when the law requires it, or to protect the rights and safety of our students, staff and the public.
Anyone can confirm that one of our certificates is genuine on our verification page, which shows the student's name, course and issue date. That is the purpose of a verifiable certificate.
Transfers outside Nigeria
Some of our providers store or process data outside Nigeria. Where that happens, we use providers that apply appropriate safeguards to protect your data, as the Nigeria Data Protection Act requires.
How long we keep it
We keep your account data while your account is active. Payment records are kept for at least six years for accounting and tax purposes. Certificates remain verifiable unless revoked. Support and chat records are kept for as long as they are useful for helping you, typically up to two years. When data is no longer needed we delete or anonymise it.
Your rights
You have the right to:
- ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you;
- ask us to correct data that is wrong or incomplete;
- ask us to delete your data, unless we must keep it by law (for example payment records);
- object to or restrict certain uses, and withdraw consent you have given;
- receive your data in a portable format;
- complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (ndpc.gov.ng) if you believe we have mishandled your data.
To use any of these rights, email webdynamixacademy@gmail.com. You can edit most of your details yourself in your dashboard, and you can delete your account from the mobile app or by contacting us.
Security
We protect your data with encrypted connections (HTTPS), encrypted passwords, private storage for uploaded files and payment proofs, and limited staff access. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong password and keep it private.
Children
Our services are for people aged 16 and over. If you are under 18, please use them with the involvement of a parent or guardian.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. We will change the date at the top and, for important changes, tell you by email or on the website.
